Barnsley House unveils new lunch menu as The Potager Restaurant re-opens

By Jenny. February 2, 2012

Freshly-picked kale and leek risotto, roasted beetroot, braised wild rabbit. The Potager Restaurant at Barnsley House in Gloucestershire has a new lunch menu fit to drool over.

The restaurant, part of Barnsley House country hotel in the Cotswolds, has re-opened after major refurbishment.

Every detail of the new interiors have been designed to reflect the hotel’s internationally-acclaimed gardens by  former owner Rosemay Verey – down to the pots of herbs decorating the tables.

From garden to table, the menu features freshly picked vegetables. Richard Ball, managing director at Barnsley House, says executive chef, Graham Grafton, is to be congratulated for his new menu, which can be adapted for different types of occasions – and seasons.

Make sure to try the Potager’s signature dish: Vincisgrassi. An adaptation of an old 18th century dish, the recipe is made up of baked pasta with Parma ham, porcini and truffles and is available as a starter or main course.

To celebrate the launch of the new menu, lunchtime diners will be able to buy a glass of six selected Premier Cru Louis Jadot wines for £6 a glass – the price of house wine – until the end of March 2012.
