Cosy country inn on the banks of the river Coln
The Cotswolds are loved for their outstanding natural beauty, and the Inn at Fossebridge, nestled on the picturesque banks of the river Coln, certainly makes the most of its idyllic location.
In summer, visitors can watch the Fosseway descend into the valley on the river Coln while dining alfresco in the pub’s spacious four acre gardens, and when winter arrives, it’s time to cosy up by the bar’s roaring fire with a glass of something good after a stroll around the lake.
With new owners at the helm, experienced hotelier Dee Ludlow and her partner Geoff Collins have worked tirelessly to enhance the potential of this traditional Cotswold pub. The couple have introduced a contemporary style of casual dining while maintaining the inn’s classic charm, restoring the stone walls, flagstone floors and wooden beams.
Head chef David Carter crafts menus by the seasons, using local and seasonal produce to create classic hearty foods such as hot water pastry pies, as well as more refined dishes including panfried sea bass and Sicilian lemon tart.
With nine luxurious bedrooms above the inn, each individually styled and furnished with antique and period furniture, you’ll need a good reason not to upgrade a trip to The Inn at Fossebridge to a gourmet getaway. There’s also two newly renovated holiday cottages to be found in the grounds for a longer stay, with the charming Lakeside sleeping ten, and Stable Cottage housing six.
And with its stunning location, it’s no surprise that The Inn at Fossebridge is a popular wedding venue, catering for up to 60 guests in the pub’s two spacious dining rooms.
