The Castle at Taunton is offering readers a bottle of champagne on arrival, two course dinner, accommodation and an award winning breakfast for £199 per couple per night.
In the heart of Somerset, the majestic Castle at Taunton is the perfect base for exploring the magnificent sea and landscapes of the West Country.
Run by the Chapman family for the past 60 years, The Castle is renowned for the excellence of its kitchens and warmth of its hospitality, and has a host of awards testifying to this.
Former chefs have included Gary Rhodes and Phil Vickery. The kitchens are now run by Gordon Ramsay scholar Jamie Raftery, who continues to use only the finest local ingredients in the preparation of dishes, such as wild rabbit and wood pigeon with smoked pancetta; white bean and spring vegetable cassoulet with purple broccoli; and celeriac and potato gratin with wild mushrooms, roast garlic, red russian kale, hazelnuts and a port reduction.
The Castle is hosting its dining club spring gastronomic dinner on Friday April 27 with wines from the Loire and Rhône Valley presented by James Fineman of Walter Hicks Wine Merchants including a champagne reception and dinner.
The Castle will open its new Castle Bow and Bar Grill restaurant this summer.
